Listen deeply. Honor truth. Be ready to move.
I'm a writer, editor, and photographer, who covers Oregon as a staff writer for the Associated Press. Since going back to school for Journalism and International Relations/Political Economics 2012-16, I've also worked on staff at Reuters and Seattle's Crosscut. My work has appeared in the Atlantic, the Seattle Times, the Jordan Times and elsewhere.
Although I've lately been diving deep into breaking news and political reporting, investigative and feature work are where I stretch, especially at the intersection of culture, economics, and power.
Among my proudest: coverage of Jordan's shifting cultural landscape (the Jordan Times), the nation's crumbling nuclear infrastructure (Reuters), implicit bias training (The Atlantic), an American Muslim's second look at home (The Seattle Times), hit-and-run victims left in the lurch (The Seattle Emerald), and of the economic incentives of the marijuana black market (The Atlantic).
